BREAKING NEWS - Former Governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell and his family have adopted Jaycee, the Golden Mix, from 1 Love 4 Animals. Governor Rendell adopted Maggie from Bill Smith ten years ago. Sadly, Maggie passed away in 2017. She was a Golden Child among Golden Retrievers. Jaycee has big paws to fill but, by all reports, she is up for the challenge.

The video below shows our dogs being loaded onto the boat for Martha's Vineyard. Two puppy mill survivors and three dogs pulled from the euthanasia lists of high kill shelters will now find homes in one of this country's tonier resort communities.

Broadway Barks 20th Anniversary

1 Love 4 Animals was part of Broadway Barks in NYC July 14th. Shown here leaving the stage with the fabulous cast of Jersey Boys. Everyone loved our dogs and we loved being part of Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peter's Broadway Barks on its 20th Anniversary!

As the temperature reached 97 degrees...

Seizures. Delirium. Vomiting. Shallow Breathing. Coma. Heatstroke. Good Samaritan. Ice Water. Frantic Call. Penn Vet. IV Fluids. Full Recovery.

On Sunday as the temperatures reached 97 degrees with a heat index of 110 degrees, a dog named "Joe" collapsed on the street in the Torresdale Section of Philadelphia. A passerby stopped to help and called 1 Love 4 Animals in a desperate move to save the young dog's life. Within 15 minutes, our volunteers made arrangements to have the dog transported to Penn Vet. Doctors worked throughout the night monitoring Joe's brain activity, restoring fluids, and bringing the little street dog back to life.

Joe (pictured here receiving further care at Sugartown Vet Hospital).

And remember - If the temperature outside is 86 degrees, the asphalt is 143 degrees (you can fry an egg at 131 degrees). Please don't run with your dog midday or force him/her to stand on hot asphalt. And NEVER leave your dog in a car during the summer with just the windows cracked!

If you would like to adopt Joe or another dog, please visit our adoption page: www.1love4animals.org/adopt/

1 Love 4 the Potter League

1 Love 4 Animals working with the amazing volunteers and staff of the Potter League in Newport, Rhode Island. 1 Love spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and readied cats rescued from St. Croix, St. Thomas and the streets of Coatesville for the trip to our rescue partners at the League. A big thank you to the Potter League and to 1 Love's supporters who covered the cost of the cats' medical care.

Buy a 2018 Dog License and help dogs like "Fuji"

"Fuji" is a 4 year old purebred Akita and she needs a home. 1 Love 4 Animals rescued her from a puppy mill in Lancaster County.

The BEST way to help dogs in PA's puppy mills is to buy a license for own dog. The fees from dog licenses goes toward paying the salaries of state kennel inspectors and the state veterinarian who accompanies the inspectors into breeding kennels and testifies against suspected abusers in court. The Bureau/Office of Dog Law is running out of money. A surprising percentage of dog owners fail to license their dogs. The inspectors are the ONLY people who can legally enter these kennels and see these animals. The ONLY people who can cite substandard breeding kennels and close these places down!

License your dog(s) online today (or contact your local county treasurer's office). It's easy, costs almost nothing (a few dollars), and you'll be helping puppy mill dogs in PA. People ask us all the time - "How do we close these places down?" First step: Buy a dog license for your dog!

Our Baby New Year has a leash in his hand and a bag of dog treats in his diaper pocket!

It's a Happy New Year for the over 300 animals we rescued from the recent hurricanes!

In four short months, 1 Love 4 Animals has helped over 350 dogs and cats. Breeding dogs rescued from puppy mills. Cats surrendered by families no longer able to care for them. Hundreds of pets left devastated by the recent hurricanes. True. We have no physical shelter (yet) and our financial reserves are somewhat limited, but we are resourceful and determined and together we will make a lasting difference in the lives of at-risk animals everywhere. Our Baby New Year has a leash in his hand and a bag of dog treats in his diaper pocket. And he's not crawling, he's up and running with a clear path and a strong sense of commitment.

1 Love 4 Animals wants to thank everyone who has contacted us and supported our efforts thus far. We wish you the Happiest of New Years!

We're in Puerto Rico with the Sato Project and Wings of Rescue

1 Love 4 Animals is in Puerto Rico helping with a massive 125 plus dogs transport to North Jersey this Saturday. 1 Love donors provided funding for this transport and another on the 28th of this month. The number of animals we help with our rescue partners The Sato Project and Wings of Rescue depends solely on the amount of money we raise. Please make a donation today and support this important work.
